Thank You For Your Commitment
|
Dear Mathematics Education Leaders,
As we approach the end of another remarkable year, I want to extend my heartfelt gratitude for your unwavering dedication and tireless efforts. Your commitment to creating positive change for educators and students in your systems and building a culture of inclusion and joy in mathematics is truly inspiring.

Nelson Mandela once said, “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.” Your work embodies this powerful truth, as you support educators to grow in their practice to provide students more opportunity to develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills that will help them to better navigate and transform their own worlds and ours.
The impact you have on teachers, students, and the broader educational community is profound and lasting. Judy Blume reminds us that, “Our fingerprints don't fade from the lives we touch.” Whether you are leading a change initiative at a system level or helping one teacher or student overcome a challenge, your leadership and encouragement contributes to a brighter future for all.
As you take a well-deserved holiday break, I hope you find time to relax, recharge, and reflect on the incredible achievements of this past year. Enjoy this time with your loved ones! I hope for you to return with renewed energy and enthusiasm. The new year will undoubtedly bring new challenges and opportunities to learn, and I am confident that, with your passion and dedication, you will continue to make a significant difference in mathematics education.
Thank you for all that you do. Wishing you a joyful holiday season and a prosperous new year! Let’s go!
— Katey Arrington, NCSM President
